Women Empowerment

Women Empowerment

Enabling women to participate, lead and shape community development

Women play a central role in rural families, local economies and community institutions. Yet their contribution is often limited by unequal access to income, assets, skills, information and decision-making opportunities.

TSRD supports rural women in organising themselves, building financial and livelihood capabilities, participating in local institutions and developing confidence as community leaders. Self-Help Groups serve as important platforms for savings, credit, collective enterprise, awareness building and mutual support.

The programmes encourage women to move from participation to leadership and from economic contribution to greater ownership of decisions affecting their families and communities.
